Grand opening of Wat Khemara Rangsey, Sept. 27, 2003
On September 27, 2003-- it was the Grand Opening for Wat Khemara Rangsey. The contemplating and anticipations for the new temple has ended; a new temple has open up and ready to welcome the world with open arms. We can say this temple was built from the heart and souls of passionate Khmers who seek salvation for their people. Thank to the many hard working men and women, the Elderly now have a place to pray, the youths have a place to learn their culture, the young children have a place to grow, learn and play. The temple shines more lights and hope in restoring our lost culture from the so much pain and suffering from the past. With the temple we now can have a Khmer community; we now can call San Jose for first time our hometown.

Khmer Krom Youths perform traditional dances
With the new temple-- came along Cambodian cultural dancing classes. With such great supports from the community and great passion from the youths with the brilliant artistic minds of the dance instructors these youths for the first time can spring out to the world through their cultural dances and tell the world that they’re Khmers. With their wills to learn and great instructors, another piece of the puzzle of Khmer cultural that was believed to be lost is now found. Giving hopes to those who want to see their lost homeland a peek of San Jose, a new home to Khmers.
