Who is the United Khmer Krom Non-profit Organization Inc ?

The United Khmer Krom Non-profit Organization Inc (UKKNOI) is a non-profit organization that is organized under the non-profit corporation law. This organization is established to serve the Cambodian people (especially Khmer Krom people), in San Jose and the Bay area.

The UKKNOI locates at the Khmer Krom Community Center at: 1594 Cunningham Ave, San Jose, CA 95122 . In this center, there is a worship place for the community members coming to pracice the Buddha's teaching. This worship place is called Wat Khemara Rangsey.

Each year, the UKKNOI helps to organize the Cambodian Cultural ceremonies for community members, especially for the Khmer and Khmer Krom Youths to participate and learn about their own culture on the Cambodian New Year, Kathin, etc. The UKKNOI also helps to open the Cambodian classes to help the Youths to learn their own language on the Weekend at its community center. Beside learning Khmer, the Youths also learn to perform the Cambodian classical dances.

ARTICLE OF INCORPORATION

I. NAME

1. The name of this corporation is UNITED KHMER KROM NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION INC.

II. PURPOSE

2. This corporation is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the nonprofit corporation law, exclusively for non-profit purposes. The specific purposes of this corporation are:
A. To help and preserve Cambodian cultures.
B. To assist Cambodian people in the process of adapting to the new culture and society in United States.
C. To operate for educational and chartable purposes.
D. To receives the raised fund in order to maintain and administer its corporation.



III. INITIAL AGENT

3. The name and address in the State of California of this corporation’s initial agent for service of process is:

IV.THE PROPERTY

4. The property of this corporation is irrevocable dedicated to non-profit purposes and no part of the net income or assets of this corporation shall ever inure to the benefit of any director, officer, or member there of or to the benefit of any persons. Upon the dissolution or winding up of the corporation, its assets remaining after payment or provision for payment, of all debts and liabilities of the corporation which is operated exclusively for charitable purposes and which established its tax exempt statues under Section 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

V. DISTRIBUTION OF INCOME AND PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

5. This corporation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purpose within the meaning of Section (501)(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

6. Not withstanding any other provision in the Article, the corporation shall not carry other activities not permitted to be carryon. By a corporation exempt from the federal
income tax under Section 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, by a corporation contributions to which are deductible under Section 170 (C) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code.

7. No substantial part of the activities of this corporation shall consist of carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation and the corporation. Shall not participate or intervene in any political campaign, or the publishing or the distribution of statement on behalf of any candidate for public office.



VI. DISSOLUTION

8. On the dissolution of the corporation, after adequately providing for the debts and obligations of the corporation any remaining assets shall be distributed to a non-profit fund or to other organizations.
We are the undersigned of the corporation declare under penalties of perjury that we have examined the forgoing and to the best of ours knowledge and belief it is true, correct, and complete.

VII. THE MANGEMENT

9. The officers of the UNITED KHMER KROM NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION INC., shall consist of:
A. One President and many advisors
B. Two Vice Presidents
C. One Secretary and an Assistance Secretary
D. One Treasurer and an Assistance Treasurer
E. And four committees.
